Gerald Palmer's centenary

You may recall the MGCC Magnette Register's thoughts for celebrating Gerald Palmer's centrnary that I wrote to you about earlier in the year. These were put on hold when I discovered that the correct year was 2011, not 2010 (!) but we're now getting our ideas together for an event next year.

We have a date - Saturday, 21 May, and a booked venue - British Motor Heritage at Gaydon, Warwickshire. We also have some early ideas about activities - as well as a gathering of as many of GP's cars as we can muster we are thinking of some guest speakers during the day (we have a room available at the museum) and possibly a dinner in the evening. There would also be scope for a road run on the Sunday morning for those staying overnight. And we have a target - 100 cars for 100 years!

We would be very keen for this to be an event for all Palmer's designs - or at least as many as possible - so it would be great if your registers would like to be involved. We're organising our first event planning meeting, and would welcome involvement of reps from all possible Palmer models.
