G'dday From The Sunny South,
The Hon. Forum Administrator has asked me to share on Jowett Talk, the piece I sent in an E-mail on 23rd December. Here it is!
Dear Each of You,
This morning with the Rover 75’s ambient temperature reading 32 °C (reasonably accurate) and with the sun shining on a perfect Melbourne morming, I took the Jupiter for a twenty-mile blast to clear the car’s, and my, sinuses. It was one of those magic runs with short bursts to 5,300 rpm in third gear and that thrilling feeling that only a Jupiter owner can have, and it pumped up the enjoyment factor! Truly, one of those mornings that is the reason why we live here.
Parked the Jupiter in the garage with rhe temperature gauge at close to 76 °C. The car ran well and we both felt a lot better for it.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year,
Mike A and E0 SA 42R (feeling chuffed).
Please note, the roads were very quiet, in an industrial suburb next door and I had a few good second and third gear bursts (brief) at high revs. The police missed me on this occasion!
This run was, very likely, the best eye test I could have had, For the first time in years I could read the instruments and see far up the road clearly without the aid of spectacles.
But it has to be in a Jupiter!
All the best,
Mike Allfrey.
