I had the misfortune of having a head stud pull out the the block. Does anyone know what the alloy spec is for the block material and welding rod to use?
Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
I believe that the Jowett crankcase material was DTD 133B, and while I am confident that I have the full material specification somewhere in my files, I was not immediately able to put my hand on it. I suggest that you do a internet search for DTD 133 along with material, specification, or aluminium (UK spelling) until you find what you need.

Scott,
And another thing; I have got sets of Thread Repair Kits from these people: http://www.wireinserts.com/ in 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" BSF sizes (with screwdriver applicator), and they have worked out well for me. I can recommend them.
Philip.
