The WAIT AND SEE Odyssey

Post by Bradford Society Trust »

It has been sometime since the BST penned an article for this section. I must say that the comments made by members regarding the WAIT AND SEE crossing have been welcomed indeed. The crossing of Australia in a single Bradford is an epic in itself, but one has the advantage of being able to please ones self. I have to make comment here that Brian Hehir on his return trip from the Bendigo rally this year did 530 kilometers in one day during light hours. How goods that? Bradfords are indeed very good machines and the WAIT AND SEE machines plodded along all day every day for 23 crossing days and 4 days before the actual start. We broke and axle and shook a fuel pump apart but other than that the trip was mechanically uneventful.

Currently the video footage is being edited into perhaps two 1 hour sections from 62 hours of high definition wide screen. And through the urging of Noel Stokoe and others a book is also being written. Bugger me I have not had time to stratch myself. It was a great adventure, was great fun and all the drivers agree that another epic needs to be thought about. Christmas cheers from the WAIT AND SEE crew Susan Sharrock, Bill Ebzery, Howard Norfolk, Ollie Stevenson, Rosealie Heffernan, Robert Rowley and Barry Harding. What about the distance we travelled you ask? Each Bradford covered 5200km of glide by scenry and we arrived 10minutes early at the Sydney Town Hall after an average of 350km/day. Bill Ebzery

Hello Bill,

Please delay the scratching, as you can see the shipping order awaits from the JCC for the video, and talk of a book is music to our ears. Have you any final pictures to post? You did promise some on the web site of a band playing in the back of the Bradfords, but nothing as yet
