Thats good to hear Paul, we could be going for a record. The last time so many Jowetts were together in one place it would have been at the factory. We can't afford for many not to make it though.

Hi Chris, Send me the details of the Rover. and Yes I got the Handbook. As you say the notes are fascinating. 2 pistons at £2-12-10 make the pair that were on Ebay recently at £60 look expensive!

HHi Steph.
Not quite, but interestingly we have more Jupiters than Deluxe Javelins

Programme has gone to the printers now. About 163 Jowetts listed plus 4 industrial engines.

Hi Alan.

"but unfortunately not the Jowett"

What's the problem? Is it not road-worthy yet? Do you need local help? Or is it just that you can't afford the holidays?

Take a leaf out of K.C./Amy's book and get a few Jowetteers to come and help if it's the former, but hard luck if it's the latter.

Tony.

Sitting "Idly" here

Post by Alastair Gregg »

If the numbers increased by 12 over the two days between Paul's post and we have 34 days left and the bookings continue at the same rate there will be 204 more plus 163 already booked =367 and 4 +68 = 72 stationary engines.

Improbable methinks, but I could be wrong

Hi Tony,

With may just looming over the horizon, the car isn't quite ready yet. Still minus the engine, which I was hoping all the engineering type work would have been done by now. Also a few bits and bobs like putting wings back on and what not. Also I'm having quite a bit of trouble when it coming to insure "the lady" again. But am still looking forward to the rally no matter how we get there.

Cheer Alan

Very Quiet

Post by Chris Spencer »

The polishing cloths and spanners must be glowing with friction as you all are very quiet on this subject - could it be that you all are speachless due to the excitment ?? - is it that the other half has banned you from everything Jowett until you get to the rally ?? or is the snooker keeping you glued to the TV ?? - Our fellow members on the otherside of the world must be at least thinking about dusting off the suitcases ??

Any of you far travelled members planning a trip London whilst you are here ?? Let us know - must go or project 'SC' becomes project 'No Paint' !

I'm just off to sort a clattering noise in my dynamo out. But the rally is still a long way away. I'm due at the Prescott hill climb next week and I have to be ready for that, once that is done its down to polishing and checks.

You are not alone in an SC rebuild by the way. SC990 is due to go for its MOT next week, however its going to a French MOT station!!!!!

Its a LHD and lives in France :D

Dear Tony,

Sorry for the delay in replying to your post.

I'm honoured and excited to be going to Wakefield for the Centenary.

Unfortunately I don't have a Jowett in a barn needing restoration. I don't even have a barn - what a sad story.

There did, however, used to be a Javelin in my garage in desperate need of some tender loving care. I used to play hide and seek in it, until Dad moved it out to make space for my brother's Lotus.
