Hello Robin.

I will send you a P.M. with MKO's email address. He is doing the bookings.

He might not visit the JowettTalk site very often so if you send a P.M. it may take some time for him to read it.

From all accounts you'll have to be quick if you're coming over. See January's Jowetteer.

Regards,

Tony.

Just to remind you, Forumadmin posted the brochure about this Rally in his post on this Section of JowettTalk.

See:- 'Jowett Annual Weekend, Bradford 28-31 May 2010' which was posted November 19th 2009.

It is wise to send an email via the email button in JowettTalk as well as the PM. Note if you send a PM the recipient is also sent a mail to ask them to read their PM inbox.

Jowett 2010 Rally

Post by Robin Fairservice »

I had sent an E mail to KO, but I haven't had a reply. After seeing the comments in the January Jowetteer, we have booked rooms at a nearby motel, so am only enquiring about the details of the program and how we book for dinners and events.

I had printed out the brochure from the November Jowett Talk, but it only refers to where things take place, but not times and prices and how to book.

'Lighten my darkness I beseech thee' if it's ok to do so, as Joseph hasn't yet posted on the Forum.

He may of course wish to remain incognito.

Post by Chris Spencer »

You have all gone very quiet on this subject - is it because you are all out there preping the car /s in advance ?? - or maybe you are just down the pub or maybe you have forgot just how close this event this is to happening?

Wakefield Rally

Well Chris,

I'm busy,

I have my shoes and socks off and am counting down the days. I am pleased to report its just over twice my hands and feet digits days away and getting closer.

Now where did I get to, oh yes Left hand the first time or was it the second, bother.....

Seriously some butcher (not me honest) scratched the Jupiter so she is going in for a wing being sprayed tomorrow. The dynamo man has promised me a charging system par exelance by the end of the week and the MOT is set up for April 22nd. Servicing has been done, Chrome polished and engine de greased. JOAC AGM booked in (24th), Drive it day (25th) with NW section JCC booked in. Prescott Hill Climb booked for early May, then its the rally

Also very busy

Post by Chris Spencer »

Alastair - Good to hear from you - as you can gather I am very busy helping to get project 'SC' into paint along with Keith, Amy, Jack & various others.

I shall be at the rally but not having even commenced the restoration on the 8 (and it was bought in more pieces than you can imagine) I can not be in a Jowett. However, for several years I have owned a very nice - very low mileage 73 Rover 3500. I have just rebuilt the calipers / master cylinder with new seals, some cosmetic odds on the engine, rebuilt the carbs, powder coated the wheels, new tyres etc. So just the MOT and a quick polish, I may have to empty the bank account to fill the petrol tank as it only returns about 15 MPG ! - still great fun and a superb long distance classic.

Unsure of which bit of the 8 to bring with me as it really ought to be at the rally in spirit - maybe the number plate and some pics ?

At the Rally

Post by Alastair Gregg »

Well A picture of you holding the plate at Wakefield probbably counts as another Jowett there. Anyone any idea what the tally is likely to be? 2006 was 143 cars, it would be nice to see the might of the club displayed with over 150 if possible, come on folks it is the centenary after all!
