CONCOURS ENTRANTS ARE REQUESTED TO ATTENDJowett Car Club Ltd Concours Rules
GENERAL
i Awards will not necessarily be presented if classes are not of a
minimum standard e.g. only a few vehicles entered, not of good quality.
ii Included in the marking system is an allowance for originality.
iii Class H to include CD Bradfords, Special Bodied Jupiters, one-off
factory built specials and special (non-factory fitted) bodies to any
Jowett Chassis. In the event the highest placed Jupiter will receive the
"Marcel Bequart" award.
iv The winner of each class will receive the PREMIER CONCOURS prize.
v The second in each class will receive the CONCOURS prize.
vi The third in each class will receive the CONCOURS RUNNER-UP prize.
vii Additional prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the Rally
Committee.
viii The winner of the Premier Concours prize for each appropriate class
will be judged by a separate judge - purely on a Concours basis, for
the SIDE VALVE and OVERHEAD VALVE "CAR OF THE YEAR" trophies.
ix Concours Judges’ decisions are final in all cases.
INELIGIBILITY
Any vehicle that won a PREMIER CONCOURS AWARD in both 2011
and 2012 is not eligible for entry in the 2013 concours competition.
ROADWORTHINESS
Vehicles (Bristol Crawlers excepted) must be insured, display a current tax
disc (or national equivalent) and be DRIVEN to the rally concours site to
be eligible for concours judging.
MODERN SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Vehicles will not be penalised for the addition of modern safety items
such as flashers, rear fog lights etc. unless a blatant disfiguration.
JUDGING
As judging involves internal and under bonnet inspection of the vehicle,
the owner or a representative must be present during judging. Judges
are not permitted to open bonnets, boots etc..
JUDGING FORMS
After the presentation of the trophies, and within 3 months of the rally,
the judging form for the entrant's
Note the need for the owner or his representative to start the engine and operate the lights, otherwise up to 10 points will be lost. Also if the owner is not present and the car is locked many other elements cannot be judged. We will try to issue an approximate time for when the judges intend to judge each vehicle. Please keep an eye on the notice board on the field and listen to any announcements regarding changes.Vehicles entered in the annual concours are judged in 5 categories and in 4
sub-sections of each category. A maximum of 5 points can be gained in each
sub-section making a maximum of 20 points for each category and 100 points
for each vehicle
