A MYSTERY . . .

Post by Leo Bolter »

Hi all.

Here's a mystery someone may be able to help solve.

A request to allow someone to add me to their Skype list!

I had this arrive on my Skype application this evening. I’m a bit suspicious so have not accepted the request, although it may possibly be a genuine Jupiter person . . . but in spite that the reference to SAL 152 made by the requester (nelson_on_vashon) does sound like a Jupiter number, I can’t find it listed anywhere . . . .
Does anyone know of a Jupiter of that number and/or does that name Nelson ring a bell?

By the way, Vashon is a island in Puget Sound off the coast near the city of Seattle, Washington . . .

There's also absolutely nothing else on the person's Skype profile . . . that worries me too! :o

Might it possibly be the Ken Nelson you have been conversing with on this forum! Send him a PM or email via JowettTalk

Ahaaaaa . . . "well done Algie (Keith)" as Biggles would have said :D You are of course, perfectly correct!

Obviously sometimes things are so close that I can't see them! . . . I DO apologise Ken  . . . but the lack of information in the request did cause me some concern. I even checked through the latest Jupiter Register and did a Google search as well. I now and then get "out of the blue" requests to "be someone's friend", sex and sex aids etc. using Skype's contact requests, but your request, with it's Jupiter number, did stir me into checking instead of just killing it off, as I normally would do.

I will most certainly instigate the connection using Skype as soon as I'm done here . . . :D

Once again, thanks Keith for pointing out the obvious . . and please accept my apologies Ken.

Cheers.
Leo

The MYSTERY is SOLVED . . . I think

All this confusion is at last becoming clearer to me . . . . Since the previous posts made here I have discovered that there's two people involved in this forum who have Nelson in their names and for various reasons I've managed, up to now, to assume they were one and the same person.

There's Ken Nelson who's the new Registrar of the recently formed US Jupiter club. He has 4 Jupiters and lives near Detroit, Michigan. (I have answered his post for info. on engine bearings etc. and also apologised to him as if it was he who was asking to make Skype contact . . . )

Then there's a member who uses just Nelson as his user name, (there-in lay my confusion!) who also owns the Jupiter - SAL 152. He lives on Vashon Island near Seattle, Washington. He has, as yet, not posted on this forum. It was he who requested a connection be granted on Skype as mentioned below . . . by the way, we have "video chatted" today :) ).
