Jupiter is 1950s category winner in Classic Car of the Year!

Post by Amy »

It is my very great pleasure to announce that my SC Jupiter has won the 1950s category in the Classic Car of the Year competition which is being run by Practical Classics / Classic Cars magazines :)

For those of you who've missed it (where've you been??), information on the rebuild here: http://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1207 and information on the competition here: http://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1691

The list of category winners has today been published in Classic Cars:

You will see that we are in some illustrious company, including two Aston Martins and a Jensen. Napoleon, as category winner, will be on display at the Classic Car Show at the NEC next month so we look forward to seeing many of you there.

The overall winner of the competition will be revealed to the category winners on Thursday 11th November (keep your fingers crossed!) and all the cars will be on display at the NEC.

My immense thanks to all of you who have supported us in the project and voted for us in the competition. We really entered the competition as a bit of a punt, because we were proud of our achievements and also to show off Jowetts in their centenary year - I think we've definitely achieved our objectives!

Amy.

Great stuff...
We got the kakariki in the NZ Forest and Bird as the bird of the yr, and that was a rank outsider
And you (no us being Jowett people) have a jupiter couple weeks later.

Well done Amy - you and Napoleon deserve it! This should be a tremendous boost for the club on top of the excellent stand which the Midlands section put on every year - Levi and I look forward to seeing you at the NEC. Good luck in the meantime!
