All I see above is a longer bar than normal to chuck my weight behindForumadmin wrote:Jack certainly needs one of these. The problem is knowing what torque is required. Low tensile and small diameter bolts are the most problematic. First you need to know the relative strengths of different diameters of foxings. Then you need to appreciate the different strenfths of the materails they are made from. Then you need to know your own strength and learn to feel for the fixing. Learn when it is grabbing, learn when it is about to stretch or neck. Learn about even and gradual application of torque. A torque wrench does help but you still need to know how to use one.
Typical bolts that stretch on a Jowett are wheel studs, clutch plate bolts and of course anything in aluminium; but then it is not the fixing that goes- the oil flexi pipe banjo bolts, head studs, oil sump.
Anybody any others they have stripped or snapped?
