Re: 1952 Javelin PD for sale
This is the standard Javelin that was advertised in a recent Jowetteer, with those adverts repeated in this forum by Forumadmin on August 9th.
As a result of seeing the ad in the Jowetteer I sent for the photographs the vendor said he could supply and by email received quite a number of high quality images. This was indeed very honest, because I could see that there was a considerable amount of paint bubbling in the area of the os A post (usual spot). Some slight bubbling also visible in a couple of other areas. Interior looked nice. Although a standard car it had been fitted with leather seats which looked to be recently renovated. Most disappointing was that the door bottoms looked very odd with the bottom edge not at all the same dimension as the swage line on the front and rear wings where they met. The underbonnet was scruffy and dirty contrasting very badly with the high polish finish of the exterior. I considered that the asking price of £6000 was too high for a car that would need money spent to get it right.
Clearly it has now passed to a dealer who has added a bit on and is trying his luck.
