Hi Peter,

Thanks for the further photos. She looks to be in good condition underneath! The things you mention, like the door seal trim and rubber grommets for the bumpers should be fairly easily available. Do you have an illustrated parts list? I think there should be one available on the Jowett website? This will enable you to obtain the part numbers which will be helpful to the Jowett Spars folks, when they look for the parts you need. They should have the grommets, but the door trim would be available from commercial companies, like Woolies. They are on 44-1778-347347 and their website is www.woolies-trim.co.uk.

I can see that she has hydro-mechnical brakes. They changed these for full hydraulic later in 1950, from chassis numbers around 10,000 onwards? In your photo, the flexible high pressure pipe from the master cylinder going forward to the front brakes looks to have a very tight radius on it? I would think you might like to change this to give a better curve on the flexible pipe, as I would imagine you have some steep hills in Switzerland and I would not like this pipe to fail on you!

I am impressed with the visible condition of the chassis. She looks in very good condition and I would imagine you are very happy! Perhaps you can let us know how she runs and I look forward to hearing more soon!

All the best,

David

Hi Peter. It is good to see that your girl is at last in Switzerland! I was in Zurich last week! Do you have a maintenance manual? I have a couple of complete but a bit tatty ones. Meanwhile have you joined the UK Jowett Car Club. Jowett Car Spares are only allowed to trade with club members but I think that they have many of the parts that you need. Their number is 0044 1274 604455 but it is only open on Monday evenings UK time between 1900 and 2100.
Do you know Tom Chapman? He is the JCC overseas secretary. He will help you too.

Parts lists and Handbooks

Post by Forumadmin »

You may also like to try a web html parts list Javelin-JupiterPartsCatalogue rather than TIFF Parts List.

Other parts list are available. You can choose from the list.
JAV-Jup PARTS spreadsheet
1949_bradford
10-4-PartsList
10-4-Handbook
VintageHandbook

Also look in the Technical section of the Gallery where there are many manuals in pdf and Word format.

The Legacy project has yet to decide how they want to organise the documents.
