For those who like all things on 4 wheels / motorsport - this is a new 6 part series by the beeb. it follows the world of BRISCA formula 1 stock car racing. The cars are generally self built chassis / single seat rollcage, initiative engineeering - V8 Chevrolet 9 litre, 700 BHP + powered on short ovals of 300 - 400 yards with both shale (dirt) & tarmac tracks (Including the one just down the road from you Alistair). Only the UK, NZ & Holland compete in this formula which has been around for nearly 60 years, it is known as one of motorsports best kept secrets. The main body of the series will follow the rival second generation drivers of the Wainman & Smith families - (I used to race many years ago against their dads). This looks to be the makings of a great programme - with a combination of documentry / motorsport / behind the scenes filming. Screening is BBC1 - Monday 2nd August 22.35 hours for England, 23.05 for Wales & Northern Ireland

Just had a clip on Something For The Weekend, looks a bit bonkers.

We saw a load of cars on the way up to Birmingham, not sure if they were the same cars but they'd certainly had a battering!
