Centenary Car Badge
I have just spoken with Danuta Morgan, who runs the Jowett Car Club Shop with her husband John, about the Centenary Rally badge that I mentioned a couple of posts above this one.
Apparently Amy has already ordered a badge from Danuta (no. 26) so thanks Drummond and Peter, - we'll have to spend our fivers on something else.
I asked Danuta if Amy's dad had ordered a badge for himself, and she assured me that he hasn't yet done so, so I've taken the liberty of reserving a badge (no. 31) for Keith which can be paid for and collected at Wakefield.
If for any reason Keith doesn't want this then I'll buy it for myself if it's not sold.
Peter (p.p.), and other Jowett Car Club members who want a badge can telephone Danuta on:- 01633 211410.
There are around 30 badges being held back for possible purchase by the international Jowetteers coming to the weekend, and of the hundred badges produced 46 have already been sold.
This leaves 24 badges not yet purchased.
Tony.

Scenic Run Distances
Tony - tks for the badge reminder - was just in time to get '34' for Arabella.
On another subject, somewhere, and I can't now locate it, there was mention of two courses for the Scenic Run - a long and a short.
Can someone tell me roughly the mileage involved for each ?
Tks

My word, It's not long now is it to this years JNR.
My Eight and Javelin are all ship shape, and gleaming, after there subsequent lashings of polish. It was hard work on Sunday polishing in that heat!
I'm now counting down the hours, till departure time. 10:30hrs BST on Friday when I hope to set off. I hope to arrive at the hotel around 2pm. But there's know rush. Not in my car any way.
Dad and I, think the distance is about 60 miles from Macclesfield to the rally HQ.
So I have very carefully mapped out the root, together with a set of instructions. I have selected a root to avoid any areas of high population where there is likely to be road traffic.
Nearly all of the journey will be rural, but hilly in places, which will be a good test for my car.
Good luck, to everybody in your journey to Wakefield. And I hope that you all have an enjoyable four day's of Jowetteering.
See you there.
All the best
Paul

Impending Rally weekend.
Hello Paul and everyone else who has viewed this post about the 2010 Centenary Rally at Wakefield.
It seems a long time ago (26th October 2009 - 26th May 2010 - 8 months) since we started discussing the event.
As I write, we've had 3097 views and 81 replies, so it's obvious that there's a lot of interest.
This, together with Amy and Jack's record of their attempt to bring their Jupiter to the Rally, has been an ongoing reason for visiting the JowettTalk website.
But we must'nt forget how many unsung heroes have been toiling away to get their own Jowett to the Rally.
To my knowledge, Bernard, from the Northern Section, and John also from the same (although across the Pennines) section, as well as Bill and Drummond from Scotland have all had their problems.
Luckily it seems that they also will be there with their Jowetts along with 'Napolea(o)n'.
I'll bet there's been more than a few other Jowetteers burning the midnight oil right up to the wire to get their own Jowetts to the Rally.
Whilst I'm on here, I'd just like to remind you all to have a look at the Young Jowetteers' stall at the Rally. One of the various items that may be of interest to you Javelin and Jupiter engine builders is a pair of cylinder-liner holders, essential to that re-build. Keeps them in place whilst messing about with the pistons etc.
Photo below to show you what I mean. They are invaluable, and not available anywhere else as far as I know.

So get down to the Young Jowetteers stall early if you don't want to be disappointed.
Here's wishing you all a safe journey, and hoping that the weather will be kind.
Tony.

The young Jowetteers have come a long way since my day. I'll make sure their stall is well attended this year.

Re: JOWETT CENTENARY RALLY 2010. WILL YOU BE THERE?
Tony sent me a CD of pictures he had taken at JAW 2010 which I duly resized to 1024 pixels and uploaded to my Gallery Album. I was unable to load into the album he had created due to a bug in the latest software that does not let Gallery Admin do such things. The same fault also prevents me moving contents of albums, and using Web Publishing Wizard.
Anyway the hosting server crash lost that upload so , last night I revisited the problem. Bug reports suggest they almost know about it and have a fix for the delete issue but not the move.
Anyway found my own way around it by giving my personal logon permission to do such things on the necessary albums and used the WPW with my personal login. So now you can see them on
