Any one know of the leaf spring configeration for my front springs - having called the company that have the springs for refurbishment (sent by the previous restorer prior to my purchase) the front spings are a unmatched pair - one has a additional auxillary leaf - - unsure of which side it came off.
Mine is a 37 model and I know that they were significant changes made over the 3 years of production - Geoff Wills counted over 50 differences between his 38 model and a 37 - can you fellow 8 owners please have a count up on the number of leafs each side on the front springs and let me know - please include what year your car is -
Many thanks
Chris

the short answer is I havn't a clue! But for what its worth a couple of thoughts. As far as I can remember the front springs on all *'s (exept 1940) were the same and did not have a 'helper' leaf ( I have only come across this on the rear of some commercials including Bradfords. SDid the 10/4 have a helper leaf to cope with extra engine weight? If so have you got an 8 and a 10 spring.
It may be worth checking that the springs are exactly the same apart from the helper leaf just in case one is a rear commercial spring or even a non Jowett spring.
Sorry can't be more helpful

Hello Chris.
Perhaps you could give P.R. a ring (I'll expand in a PM). He's had an 8 for a number of years.
Tony.
P.S. Tried to send a PM but don't know whether it came across. let me know if youhaven't received it. A.J.
