Another Javelin for sale
Hi there,
Just thought I would mention that there is currently a Javelin for sale on eBay, chassis number EO/PB/9622. It is stated as a green 1950 model, [ which actually looks to me like a late 1949 model, before de luxe and standards were sold as different versions ] It is for sale in New Zealand, but comes with free P&P to the UK at Southhampton! [ as well as other European docks! ]. I have no connection whatsoever with the vendor, who is asking £5,999 or best offer. The eBay reference nunber is 260567851796.
It looks in reasonable condition, with what looks like an early engine and is stated as having no rust, being made from real British Steel! [ hmm!]
Might be worth a look, and perhaps our colleagues in NZ will already know about this vehicle. It apparently has the NZ version of an MoT and has a registration number of RH 6704. However, I cannot see it in the register?
All the best and happy eBaying!!
David

Hi there,
Just updating you on this car. It has been sold for £4500. As it was not in the Javelin register, I wonder whether our colleagues in New Zealand could let us know who purchased the vehicle and any details?
Congratulations to the lucky new owner, it looked a nice original example!
All the best,
David

Hi there,
It seems as though the sale of this car must have fallen through, as it has been re-listed! So, there's another chance for you!
The eBay number, if you want to have a look, is 260585090331.
I have no connection whatsoever with the vendor, but it does look a clean early car. The price, on a 'buy it now' basis and other details seem to be the same as originally advertised. The auction lasts until 22 Apr, 21.16 BST and the asking price, on the 'buy it now' basis is £5,990, including free shipping to the UK!
All the best,
David

Hi Peter ( p.p. ),
Thanks for the photos.
Congratulations on being the proud owner of this Javelin, and a warm welcome to our Club! I may be a bit biased, but I think it is a very friendly club and you will get loads of help and advice, should you need it!
The Javelin looks from the photos to be in good condition and I will look forward to hearing how she performs when you take delivery! You will find plenty of written material on the Club website to help you maintain her, so you need not search for expensive manuals, although some of these are often on eBay. By the way, your Morris Minor looks lovely and you probably miss her!
All the best and do keep in touch,
David

Welcome
Peter - I have only been a member of the club for six months but I can vouch that you will have to travel far and wide to find a more friendly bunch of people.
I think you have paid a fair price for the car - a good one retailed through a dealer in the UK is £5,000 + sterling ( see www.rugbyclassics.com who have one for sale at £6,500)
Nice boats !!!
Regards Chris

Hello Peter,
I would also like to welcome you to the Jowett car Club along with Keith, Chris and David.
Chris's comment:-
"Peter - I have only been a member of the club for six months but I can vouch that you will have to travel far and wide to find a more friendly bunch of people".
- is very true. I have been a member of the Club for 48 years and his perception of the members is absolutely correct.
You can see this in the way that we all use our proper names to announce ourselves on the Forum. Perhaps if you email 'Forumadmin' and ask him to change 'p.p.' to your full name you will feel that you really belong.
It looks like you will not be able to attend the Centenary Rally in Wakefield at the end of May this year, but perhaps you could start saving-up so that you and the Javelin will be able to come over to the U.K. for a Rally in the near future.
I hope your Javelin looks as good as your 'moggie'.
Tony.

Peter, Another welcome to the FRIENDLY CLUB, this time from Scotland. My Javelin also came from New Zealand. I have had it 16 years now. You definately have a lot of fun to look forward to. There is another Javelin owner in Switzerland so you could have your own mini rally. I drove my first Javelin from Scotland to Switzerland on a holiday in 1966 and we have some very happy memories of that trip. No doubt we will all meet up one day.

Hi Peter, nice to see your pictures. My last motorcycle trip to the Bodensee was 3 years ago and a group of us aging bikers camped at Arbon for a week.
Before that, we camped at Uberlingen for some years, visiting, Konstanz, Mainau, Neuschwandstein and lots of other nice places.
I have a friend living in Weil am Rhein. His English is not very good but we manage .
I was hoping to go down again this year with the caravan but a new grandson arriving in June has stopped my little plan !
You will enjoy the Jowett, I've had my black one for a long time !
Regards
Ted
