I've had to put extra asterisks in the Subject because I fortunately remembered I wasn't in the Aussie section. They don't seem to need to be as politically correct as we Poms. But - and this has been talked about before ---, KC, is there some technical reason why the latest posting in a discussion can not be at the top of the list of the posts rather than at the end? AJ.

Yes this can be done
Sort of...
When opening a thread u will notice at the bottom of the thread where u can reorder the posts of that thread....But that function being at the bottom sort defeats the purpose...
Those boxes can be recoded to present at the top next to veiw next etc
The trouble is to find in the files where that coding is...
Or the default order of the site can be changed, again have to find that code...
I have been in forums for 10 yrs or so, sure at 1st it seems logical to have the last 1st...but in general its better to keep the default and move the boxes.
Steps
PS if I rem, get time, I will see if I can find the code, I did some work in this area a couple yrs ago on phpbb and phpbb2

Like a lot of things, some people like it one way some another. In the winter I will will try to find a way to add a choice in your profile; along with pictures and other wish list items. I made the decision to keep the forum 'standard' so that we can keep up to date easily with any changes. If I modify anything then I need to add that modification and test it when any future changes occur. 30 years in IT has taught me not to do my own thing. Hopefully, such an option will become standard in the next release; but it may not.
