Hello all,
I am currently looking for a very good Javelin, as my grandfather was instrumental in its production back in the 1950's. He owned a foundry in Huddersfield which produced some of the mechanical components called Roberts engineering. I know little else historically, apart from I remember some of the surviving family members at his funeral back in the 1980's. I would be keen to hear from anyone who knows more about the connection, as it is obviously a key part of my family history, and also anyone who has a good car for sale.
Regards
Keen interest in a good Javelin and Javelin history

Welcome to the Forum
Great to have you along, and thanks for your interest.
I assume you are a member of the JCC there is a club Historian who can be contacted and we do have ex employees re union during August. This is at the Bradford Industrial Museum. Typically 50 Cars and owners would be there along with all the ex employees who can make it. With regards to Javelins for sale, they can vary from a couple of Hundred for a basket case up to about £7500 for a good example, so decide how much you want to spend and then keep your eye open in the back pages of the Jowetteer. We are not supposed to advertise individuals business's on the Forum, but if you PM me I will give you details of a man who specialises in selling Jowetts. I hope by the end of May you are the proud owner of a Javelin because we are celebrating a hundred years since car production started at our Wakefield rally during the second bank holiday of May. It promises to be a big event. We hope to have well over a hundred cars there and it seems it will be very much international. With 18 people coming from Australia, an unknown number from New Zealand, the States and 5 cars from Sweden/Denmark and several from closer in Europe.
You could do a lot worse than keep an eye out for the Complete Jowett History on ebay there is one available for £42.75 at the moment again Pm me and I will send you the link.
