Javelin/Jupiter rear lights

Has anyone got a spare pair of rear light lamp holders .I only need the body ,chrome ring and glass and bulbholder I have the outer housings
We have asked around amongst freinds and they seem to be as rare as rocking horse poo
we really want to keep the car original

Tom, I had this problem 10 or so years ago...in spite of trawling the autojumbles.
I found that Jaguar front lights were basically the same fitting, I think 'S' type or 420G although not red and only single filament bulbs. I grafted in double filament parts. The glass is not flat but slightly domed.
I used glass paint and it has weathered well
Maybe a good compromise...certainly better than VW or Moggie Minor.

Haven't got a closer view..but you get the picture......no pun, etc !

Amendment...after having a look at various Jags and Daimlers on Google...I can say they're not 420 or S type.
I bought them from a Jaguar specialist at a Tatton park autojumble, brand new.
I always fancied that they were from their ' pod ' above the headlights.
Memory must be going !

Tom, You do not say if they are for the Javelin or Jupiter. The Javelin used Lucas 461/1 flat lens. Several Types were used on the Jupiters. Lucas 461/1 with flat or domed lens appeared on later cars. The earlier Jupiters used Lucas 488 with Aluminium cast housings. I had a good look at all the rear lights on the Jupiters at the Masham rally and there were several styles. CONFUSED TO SAY THE LEAST.

Thanks everyone for the advice on the rear lights
These are for Joe Leach's car (the one written off on the way to Crieff)
The car is now rebuilt on the chassis from Mike Chevers and has just come out of the paintshop, I will try to attach a photo
The rear lights are still made by a club member so we have bought new(delivery next day) from CharlesRussell of Tetbury tel 01584 811575 who also by the way supplies anything which originally came from Lucas or Lucas companies such as CAV and he refurbishes lucas bits.

Dear Tom,

The original, and very nice, rear lights for the Javelin were the same as for Rolls Royce and Bentley of the same period. The Rolls Royce Club had some made at an exorhbitant price - about $A1,000 a pair, I think.

I will be attending a Rolls Royce Club meeting soon, so I can find out more details for you.

I have been looking at using LED clusters. I was hoping to find ones that did as at least stop and tail; but also perhaps amber indicators and white reverse, and for that matter rear fogs as well. Currently in the Jup I have Quartz halogen stop and tail which have been very reliable and twice as bright as incandesent ones.

Such devices are about, but are 100mm diameter which is too big. There are ones which open up like a flower which might work.

The other brief thought was to use a single power rail instead of all the wires and use tranceivers to decode on-off signals. But that is a bit high tech for 1954.
