This '34 kestrel is being sold by Richard Turner (he also has an engine on ebay - probably 1939 but claimed to be 1929.) I saw the kestrel last year and it is very much as in the photos - whats been done looks to have been done well but theres a great deal of expensive stuff needed including paint, glass, chrome, engine rebuild, upholstery & trim et etc. I only had a very quick look as I was not viewing with a view to buying.
He sold the '34 short wheelbase based 'lorry' special or whatever last year that his father the late Tony Turner created many years ago. Does anybody know where it went - as it bought by a aclub member or has it vnished into the woodwork so to speak.
I thought that too about the engine, George, but I checked the registers and it does appear to be a 1929 period number. The enging and number plate may not belong together of course!
looking at it again its probably been built up from an asosrtment of parts none of which fit with a '29 engine. cyls look pre;39 as induction pipe flange change to 4 stud (as CA Brad ) sometime during '39 model year as did the apearance of aluminium heads. cranccase apperas anything from '34 nwards possibly with valve spring tubular covers missing but possibly early with tin covrs missing.
