Many thanks for your reassurances. I think it will be a case of 'suck it and see' from now on. I have found a website on MGB distributors that you might find interesting. Have a look at http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/curvestext.htm.
At the Rally, I was talking to Dennis Sparrow and he has found a source of new electronic distributors that have switchable performance settings. There are apparently 13 settings and he has found one that makes his Jupiter purr!
Personally, having had bad experiences with electronic ignition, I am sticking with the good old mechanical variety!
