Javelin brakes
Does anybody out there in Jowettland know of a supplier or contact for supplying brake lining copper rivets. I have some new linings and it seems a shame not to use them whilst I am sorting my brakes out. All modern ones are bonded on now.

Cleveden Fasteners didn't have the rivets but told me to ring Bruce Pickles Engineering of Redhill in Surrey.
I rang yesterday afternoon with my measurements and ordered 50. They arrived by post this morning with an invoice for £2.37p. a good old-fashioned way of doing efficient business.
They make the things and will supply any amount. The person I dealt with was really friendly.
The rivets for the Javelin were Code H6.
Phone them on 01737 770123.

Those of you who remember the Pirelli Marathon reports may recall the problem we had with bonded linings melting off on the Alpine roads. Subsequent re-linings were bonded and riveted.
Unfortunately all stocks of the competition lining has now been used.
Anyone any idea if you can buy lining material by the sheet or in the size and shape required for Jowett shoes?

BRAKE LININGS
Do you have any brake lining material codes or would you care to quote the use the required linings will be involved in? i.e. racing, vigorous touring, towing, long life or general use.Anyone any idea if you can buy lining material by the sheet or in the size and shape required for Jowett shoes?
I ask this because there's a small brake specialist here in Palmerston North (NZ) which I know has/had a large range of bulk linings in stock in oversize thickness which can be ground to suit reground drums and to a perfect curve. They serve the local racing fraternity. I have had work done with great satisfaction on shoes and brake pads including unobtainable washing machine centrifugal clutch shoes.
Right . . . I'm Off to the great Manawatu Vintage Car Club Feilding Swop Meet now. Watch for some pics to be posted tonight.
