I have recently been given a copy of this book, originally written by Cecil Clutton and John Stanford in 1954 but mine is a 1959 reprint, - which is a very entertaining 'read', and in it there is a short mention of Jowetts.

They mention the record production run of the flat twin engine.

Two interesting points arise. There is a picture of a Long Two, registration FB 58?37, credited to Mr Roy Newton, and there is a mention of the Twelve Hour Record in 1928 at Brooklands by Mr J J Hall.

I have probably missed any reference to this in Jowetteers gone by, but is there more to this story?

I have a vague memory of a record attempt that involved blown head gaskets and a narrow victory, but this might be wrong.

Jowetteer material prehaps?

There is a full account of this in the 'Complete History'; incidentally, I have a 1932 issue of Light Car magazine and the car is advertised in there for £25!! Any one got a time machine?!!
