Wiring loom issues from autosparks
Hi all, I've recently acquired a wiring new loom from a member who bought it then sold the car, it's for a pd/e javelin, the problems I have found is the loom has many differences, there is no wiring coming out of the loom for the horns, it has the correct wiring for the smaller 5 connections control box, horn relay wires are different colours as per diagram, it has wires for a fusebox, head/sidelights are on the offside for both lights, coil wire is a double white but is on the ns with the dynamo connections, only wires on the ns are green/red, white/red/green/yellow, I'm working from a diagram that has a fog light and reversing light, the loom front to back has no wires for the trafficators, the loom has extra wires for indicators I've noticed, I contacted autosparks asking if they had a diagram they worked from to help me when they sell a loom but they don't, the loom is being fitted into a 1948 car, I knew there would be differences but this has fooled a few who have looked at this loom, has anyone else had experiences like this

Re: Wiring loom issues from autosparks
There will be diiferences between models and also changes may have been incorporated when the loom was manufactured. Also the loom you have in the car might also have additions and removals from standard as well as components such as the contol box and relays that may not be the same as that for which the loom was designed. Usually the colour coding is fairly reliable if the loom was properly manufactured. The only sure way is going to be to check each component and wires between them.
I have made up a couple of the looms myself. YOu might find this useful, particualrly the way I show the circuit diagram.,. viewtopic.php?p=24013&hilit=wiring+diag ... tor#p24013 or this in the Early Jave rebuild. viewtopic.php?p=22965&hilit=wiring#p22965
