Hi All, With winter forcing many of us indoors, one way to enjoy our love of cars is to explore the YouTube videos. One in particular caught my eye yesterday and I found it interesting. The YouTube website is called 'Chrome Kingdom' and the video in particular is headed 'The 1947 Jowett Javelin: Britain's Most Advanced Car — Too Good to Survive'. It runs for around 20 minutes and many members will catch sight of their cars in various UK locations. The voiceover is, unfortunately, probably produced via AI and is not too good, but I think the facts presented seem reasonably correct. I enjoyed it and |I recommend it to other members.
All the best for 2026, David

- Your interest in the forum: I now own Javelin E0 10010 (formerly Robin Fairservice's car in British Columbia). I spent some time figuring out a terrible racket in the engine and it will be used in the summers, alongside my collection of British obscurities (well, they are obscure here in N America).
I'll be looking for technical help, spares, and the sort. - Given Name: Tom

Re: Javelin development on YouTube
The same people have now done a video on the Jupiter.
There are some very factual errors, like Jupiters cooling system is thermo syphon, but still worth watching.

Good memories of Bradfords.

Hi David,
Do you have a link to the video? Actually, Jowett's described the Javelin/Jupiter's cooling system as ' Fan assisted, Thermo Syphon', so, to be fair, the video is half right? I suspect Jowett added the fan as an afterthought, as it always looks like an 'add-on'? And it was their first attempt at a fan-cooled system?
All the best,
David
