I have been battling with the new mail system for ages but today have managed to get the new mail system to send mail through an alternative server, MailJet, since the last one, Sendgrid, terminated its service.
I had temporarily redirected JT mail via the Members Services mail system.
This means I can now separate the mail from JowettTalk and the other services and domains on the server. It also means the jowett.net, jowett.org and jowettjupiter.com webmaster mailboxes are now operational on the new server. I will be deciding soon whether to add any other mailboxes so that other users of the services can receive mail and pick it up from the mailboxes. It is unlikely I will be forwarding mail to personal mailboxes, like the previous system, so users will have to use webmail to pick up their mail. The system supports POP3 and IMAP so users could pick up mail using their own clients rather than through their browser using Webmail, but only two users used this in the previous incarnation!
The new mailsystem is very powerful but also more complex, hence the delay in getting it going.
The previous GCLOUD server, which was constructed in a hurry in 2021 when the previous hosting provider, GoDaddy, terminated its service, can now be shutdown.
