Green Test

Post by AlanBartlett »

Right been doing some spraying today, coating the final wing in black to help for winter protection and experimenting with which green I'm going to use, and the results are this. Its quite a rough spray can job but it doesnt look too bad. Its a brooklands green which is really close to the original colour green which it as originally. I kinda like it. Comments and opinions welcome

That is a really nice green, Alan, very subtle and very period - I like it!

Lot better than the orange
Rough...hey its on the road, will look good from 20 ft away and when putting down the country lanes

Thu the orange would suit sutle hor rod flames down the side better, and mag wheels

(just winding up purists lol..kiwi humour)

Alan,
A very nice green. As Keith says, from a distance...what the heck, better to use the old girl.
Incidentally, I knew you were a youngster but I hadn't realised that you still needed a high chair !

looks nice! As far as I am aware the catalogued colour for '34 was either dark blue or black, green not being listed untill 35.. HOwever I am certain that it was possible to order non standard colours . I had a 1938 '8' that was factory finished in green & cream (and had the leather upholstery only listed for the '10'. I have also seen a '34 kestrel similarly factory finished in green & cream which looked very attractive. It would therefore appear that any colour scheme could be original!

Looks good Alan.

Much better than the red-oxide-undercoat-like colour that I saw at Crieff.

But don't forget, as most of us have said - use it for the rest of the year and list the problems to be sorted over the winter.

Tony.

Spraying is best done in the summer; unless you have a heated garage.

Alan, I reckon that the only thing relevant here is your comment "I kinda like it". If you like it then thats good enough, don't get too swayed by opinions, its your car, what you like goes!
