Hi All, Does anyone have any info on later Jupiter/Javelin crankcases that have seperate crankshaft thrust bearings? I have a bare and very late crankcase that reportably was produced by Jowett Engineering for their development contract with Ferguson Cars. There may be other differences, but the most obvious difference to a 'standard' crankcase, is a machined recess in the crankcase around the outside surface of the rear main bearing. This, I assume, is to accomodate seperate craknshaft thrust bearings, to control endfloat? Normally, these thrust bearings are an integral part of the rear main bearing. So, the rear main bearing would also be different to standard, being without the nornal flange.
As I no longer have a need for this crankcase, having passed on my Javelin to a new custodian, it will be looking for a new owner and any information on it's bearing requirements or, indeed, it's history would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
David
