Hi All,
Does anyone have a Javelin/Jupiter engine test stand? What would be great is a simple test stand, with radiator, starter motor and oil gauge,
which could then be coupled-up to a complete Javelin engine, which is fully assembled and with new oil and filter. The engine could then be started and run for sufficient time to instill confidence in the engine, before subsequent installation.
Many thanks,
David

Re: Engine test stand
David,
The engine stand that I fabricated several years ago was designed with test running the engine in mind, although I never got to the point of actually running an engine on the stand. Nevertheless, it would not be difficult to make some bracketry to mount a radiator or other heat exchanger on the stand. The stand is described in the attached file. As currently designed, the rear mounting brackets cover the coolant inlet ports, so a modification is required to drill out the bracket and weld on a 1" stub pipe on each side.

Re: Engine test stand
Hi PJGD,
Many thanks for your reply. Yours is a great design. What we had was a more simple wooden frame, going under the cylinders and holding a radiator and simple fuel tank. It allowed us to run an engine for an hour or so, and check for vital signs, before installation in a vehicle. Unfortunately, this has been dismantled and I was asking if someone has such a frame, so that we can test an engine.
Many thanks,
David
