Dynamo charge
My Kingfisher is nearly ready for the road, but I've noticed that the amps are reading too high when revving the engine. Even when I move the third brush it makes no difference! Any ideas anyone?

Re: Dynamo charge
I will need to research how those three brush dynamos work. I would check resistance of all the brushes to make sure they are all working.

Re: Dynamo charge
Thanks for that info Keith! Having successfully finding the third brush, I was able to alter its position, so now achieving a more acceptable maximum of 10 amps.

Re: Dynamo charge
Ten amps is a lot for a battery to cope with on a summers day - it will boil etc
Summer charge rates need to be about 2 amps for a Jowett as all it is doing it running the ignition and occasional brake lights. Do you have the summer/winter charge set up on the car?

Re: Dynamo charge
Yes, i do, so 10 amps is maximum to cope with headlights, wipers, etc. It will need finer adjustment when I've got more miles in it!
