Subject: Jupiter door lock key
Has entered the following message into the contact form:

Hello Gents, I've got a Jupiter that I'm working on and just removed the doors to attempt to rebuild the bottom hinge mounts on the body. Ive been able to get the lock cylinder detached, but not having a key I cannot get the lock cylinder out of the door to attempt to make a key for it. Does anyone happen to have key cut to coee number 519?? Having made so few cars, Im wondering if someone might have a matching key and could make a copy for me, or sell me a new/used door key lock and key in case I have to destroy this lock just to get it out of the door. I'll happily pay for air shipping from wherever to my address in northern California - near Sacramento. Any help on removing the lock cylinder without damaging the door and hopefully not damaging the lock itself, would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Ken Nelson

Ken,
Jowett Car Spares may have some keys that fit. I also think there is a person in UK who has patterns for most of that series of keys and can make a copy. Google is your friend.

Your interest in the forum: I now own Javelin E0 10010 (formerly Robin Fairservice's car in British Columbia). I spent some time figuring out a terrible racket in the engine and it will be used in the summers, alongside my collection of British obscurities (well, they are obscure here in N America).

I'll be looking for technical help, spares, and the sort.

You ought to be able to get keys from British Car Keys at http://britishcarkeys.com/

You’ll need to know what the letter code is for Jowetts, but folks here ought to be able to help with that.

Hi Ken,
Have a look at this earlier thread: viewtopic.php?t=5661

I have lot's of new keysets and you are welcome to have as many as you want, but they are of the FS series, e.g. FS880, FS980, etc.

I can mail some keysets to you, alternatively when are you going to be back in Michigan?
