Re: Auction Javelin +Kestrel
Hi All,
The Javelin looks lovely, as does the Kestrel Interestingly, the Javelin is a true Standard, with the later chrome bezel instruments, which I believe were going to be used on the CD's.
If you haven't seen it before, I have hopefully attached Harry Brierly's letter on the various Javelin models. He mentions that, prior to the 1950 model year, the concept of 'Standard' and 'DeLuxe' models didn't really apply. The earlier 'Art Deco' Javelins with the metal dash were not 'Standard' models, they were just Javelins, as that was the only model on offer at the time.
The Javelin at the auction is a true 'Standard' and really quite rare.
I hope it gets snapped-up by a club member, or hopefully a buyer who soon joins the club!
All the best,
David
