Preparation for Spa continued today with a track day at Castle Combe. The new cooling system and new engine were being tested and bedded in.

So we are just back from a very wet but very successful trip to spa racing with motor racing legends supporting the spa 6 hour race. True to form the boys had to do a complete engine change in the paddock in the pouring rain but after that the car was great! We were up against proper race cars and were at the back after a surprisingly dry qualifying but the rain returned for the race and our drivers Chris Bates and Scott Renner really stepped up to the plate! At one stage we were up to 11th out of 17 and finally finished 14th which was completely unexpected and remarkable. The organisers, fellow competitors and even the commentators couldn't believe what they were witnessing! Very well done to the drivers, mechanics and the whole team who made the whole trip a great success. A lot of work to do now to rebuild the spare engine and some other improvements before next season. Potential dates for your diary next year are hopefully the members meeting at goodwood 12th and 13th April and classic le man's 3 to 7 July.
