Your interest in the forum: Dear Jowett Club Members,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to this esteemed community. As a member of the extended Jowett family, I am honoured to join fellow enthusiasts in celebrating the legacy of these iconic auto-mobiles.

While my connection to the Jowett family may not be as direct as some, the influence of Jowett vehicles has been a significant part of my life. Growing up surrounded by stories and memories of these classic cars, I've developed a deep admiration for them!
n addition to these photographs, I am the proud owner of a grandfather clock crafted by the skilled hands of C.W. Jowett.

This timeless piece serves as a daily reminder of the dedication and artistry that characterized Jowett craftsmanship.
I'm looking forward to learning all about Jowett Cars & family.

Best wishes to you all!

Jonathan.

Hello, i hope this is in the right place,

My name is Jonathan James Whalley. I'm 44 years old, originally from Derby, but now living in Cornwall.

I attach some pictures:

Ok, Well, as they say, waits for no man, and that brings me to this post. I've included a collection of photographs featuring my family and a few cherished items. One notable piece is a framed picture of the Jowetts, relatives of mine through my grandfather, George Arthur Wood, who is pictured on the left with my grandmother at their wedding.
George's father, my great-grandfather, tragically passed away in 1919 during the Great War. Before his passing, he was married to the sister of (who went on to become called) of Elsie Jowett. My grandparents had only one child, my mother, who in turn had me, and as such, our family line is quite small.
I recently discovered living relatives, which has been a delightful surprise. We're currently awaiting further contact from a family member returning from the Jowett rally in Wales.
Living in Cornwall, I find myself somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of the larger world. At 44, discovering living relatives has been a pleasant shock for both me and the other party involved. I hope to pass on family relics and photographs to the rightful owners or perhaps to the museum, ensuring these pieces of history are preserved and o to the right people.
One special item that was made for my grandfather, it is the a grandfather clock in the pictures that has been handmade by C.W. Jowett for my grandfather. This unique clock, engraved with names and dates, it requires some restoration but remains in working order. It's a remarkable piece with rich history and would make a wonderful restoration project.
As I have no remaining close family, I am uncertain how to proceed with this rare and valuable clock. I would appreciate any recommendations on how to have it valued or advice on what to do with it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I hope you all have a lovely day!

Best regards,

Jonathan.

EDIT: I POSTED PREMATURE AS STILL GETTING FULL DETAILS ON THINGS,

Hi Jonathan,
I read with interest your story.
I hope you do get some contact with other relatives.
Face to face meetings are probably best done at the yearly national weekend that was unfortunately only last week. But other events such as northern section meetings and the Reunion in Bradford would be good places

Hello Jonathan and welcome! I'm not sure where you are based in the South West, but we have our own section meeting coming up soon at Powderham Castle near Exeter. You would be most welcome to come and meet 'local' members and a good selection of Jowetts.
Sorry for the late reply.
