I am back onto fixing my Jupiters brakes & want to make new brake lines. From what I can find out the flares are unique to Girling.
Is this correct? if so does anyone know what the correct flaring tool is?

Re: Brake piping
Hi David,
I don't know if the double flares are unique to Girling? Yes, the tools are available, just have a look on eBay for a wide range. However, a word of caution. This is a situation where costs really do matter. I have a flare-making set, from SnapOn, and it wasn't cheap, But, to get repeatabe flares, you really do need a decent set of dies and the right tool which needs to be used in a vice. I am afraid my advice is to dig deep and buy the best you can afford, you won't regret it.
As you will only need it occasonally, do JCS still hire out special tools, and is this set available for a short-term hire from JCS? If it isn't, then can one be made available?
Al the best,
David

Re: Brake piping
JCS Keep in stock the full set of brake pipes all made up & ready fit for both the Jupiter & Javelin (both hydro mech & fully hydraulic) available has full kits or individual pipes - reservoir to master cylinder pipes are also kept in stock - Its simply not worth messing around making your own pipes up or purchasing a flaring kit when such a cost effective solution is retained on the shelf
