Fitting the standard size to a head that has been gas flowed to suit the widened bore can cause this issue which happened to my Jup on way to Jowett Centenary rally.
Fitting the larger bore should solve the issue.

The New Zealand club have manufactured gaskets with a larger diameter bore for those engines which need them .
