Does anyone know where I can find a list of every car made by jowett, and some of the specifications/modifications made of each car?

Why not try "The Complete Jowett History" by Paul Clark & Edmund Nonkivell"?

An update on the project I have the go ahead, I also have full backing from my lecturer, Ive sent out many letters, still more to write asking for permissions, and interviews, Ive also written a letter off to James May from Top Gear, to ask If he maybe able to lend his voice to do a series of scripted voice overs for the project, Ive also got quite a sound beginning and today planning on writing a script for the whole thing. Like I said before any ideas come forth and speak up

Wanted, videos, pictures and interviews, of jowetteers and activities, I would like to make plea, to anyone who would be interested in being interviewed for this documentary, distance is not a problem as I could send you a list of questions and a dictorphone, to record your answers and add them to the video, like professional news broad casts do, Or if your camera shy that would be a good way to communicate your points across. I would also like to know if anyone has any videos or pictures they would like put into this documentary. please dont hesitate to pm or add to this topic, look forward to hearing from you

Ps on the subject of james may, I got a nice letter from his agent who said he was unable to be a voice over artist for my project, so i will now be thinking on other people. I ll keep you posted

Its all happening now, Ive sent various letters to interviewees, Also in the process of writing the script, Ive got a structure to follow now, and may even be funding from heritage lottery. I have also interviewed many members about their lives with Jowetts, and have also through this found out some info on more Jowett information, for example one of the lecturers or staff at college, their father used to work for Jowett Cars, as the father has passed away, I'm not sure how much info would be of any value but I shall see whats there. Please get in touch if you wouldn't mind being infront of the camera for an interview, I think its important for this to be a useful future reference.

Wanted any pictures of Jowetts, taken from a sideways angle, so the car is side on from bumper to bumper, ideally front facing to the right, as would like to try and create a montage of jowetts in a choronological order fade from one model to the next as a kind of reference to how they changed thoughout the years.

Choose the ones you want; then email the album owners. If it is on JowettNet then of course you can!

Maybe of interest
Bradfords in NZ in the late 40s and thru to earlys 60s where one of the most common commercial vechles, used for everything thing, from farmers feeding out, hunting, butchers, plumbers and florists

The pic is about 1948/49 my Parents going up the Bruce on Mt Ruapehu nth island NZ....This in its day was an extremely steep, very rough loose volcanic rock, that could hardly be called a 'road'
The laundry business was contracted to the Te kuiti hospital and the only vechile...So one can only imagine the loads it carried, sheets, blankets, nappies etc etc etc
Image

U are welcome to use
I can email lager pic if u wish

What a lovely old photo and what a fantastic advert for Jowetts! I remember the first old vehicle I saw when arriving in NZ heading north from Auckland airport was a Bradford pick-up (sorry, ute!) climbing a hill towards us, and that was in 1993 - you can imagine my disbelief and thrill: I felt I had come home!!

Keith thats a super photo! I think I have seen it before, but thought that it was a publicity shot!
Alan, I have a super photo, taken by a Junior at Crieff in my photo competition, of John Follows Kestrel sideways on. I will forward it to you. I have thousands of Jowett photos, but almost all taken from a frontal aspect!

Definatly not

That was shot on an old box 35mm camera, and that is definatly my mother in the passenger seat...unfortunaltly thats the only digital photo I have of her, they died just as calculators came in .. I was born in Te kuiti, and just remeber the laundry business.
