It now seems to be a yearly occurance that the hosting company stops services with little or no warning.
This time it was with no warning from Google who stopped the email account used for sending emails. I have asked for a review to restore but do not hold out much hope.
It is possibly because some spam got through the complex anti-spam system I had set up.
Anyhow this means that if you try to send an email via JowettTalk to another user or you try to do any admin on your JT account, such as registering, which requires you to respond to an email sent by the system, this wll not work.
Also any emails sent to a jowett.net or jowett.org address will not work, such as membership@jowett.org
So please use the personal addresses in the front of the magazine or if these are set to a jowett.net or jowett.org address please send to my personal address.
Since a similar thing happened before when the Godaddy mail system endured a bad reputation and some people's mailboxes rejected mail sent from Godaddy, I had set up an alternative mail system. This is still in use for the members services but I will need to do some work to redirerect mail to club officers private email addresses.

I think I may have fixed the issue by creating another gmail account.
Apparently Google announced in May that they were changing the terms of service. Hopefully this method will keep going for a while. I will try to improve the spam prevention since this might have been the cause for termination.
The new gmail account is jowetttek'at'gmail.com so do not be surprised if you get a message from there.
You may also notice a flurry of emails from the system that failed to previously get sent.
Some spam may get through the system, but please do not mark as spam any mail that has come via gmail from the website as this may cause Google (or your Inbox provider) to disable the account. But please let me know if you have issues.
I am working on adding more anti spam measures to prevent the few that get through. The system currently removes thousands of spam messages per day.
I have just changed the contact form on JowettTalk which was generating a lot of spam. This should now be totally fixed as any contact goes to my private message inbox on JowettTalk. I also added a difficult question for guests who know nothing of Jowetts to answer before they create a contact. This should stop the bots.
There is still currently an issue with email from JowettTalk to JT users who are with yahoo (but maybe other providers of mailboxes). I am investigating.
Please let me know of any issues, for instance if you get more than one spam per day to your jowett.org officer account via the jowetttek@gmail mailbox . I do not want to know about the other spam you get into your mailbox!!
