Master cylinder

Post by David Kemp »

There has been discussion here Oz about Javelin Jupiter master cylinders & cars that share the cylinder.
Going by my old Girling catalogues The Jowett item is unique.
Other cars have similar ,Jensen, Riley, Daimler & Hindel Smart Helecs , however they are not the same.
Some even have the same rebuild kit so may be useful , but I would be wary of saying any more than the rubber bits would work.
Most like Hindel Smart, Lanchester, Daimler or Crompton , would be rarer than the Jowett part.
So please be a little bit wary of the old "they look the same , so must be".
Good memories of Bradfords.

The uniqueness may be due to its attachment rather than the body and internals, but we already have discovered how difficult it is to find suitable spares.
I am about to fix a failed pne on my Jup so will document what Scott and I discover.
