I think I read somewhere that new aluminium sleeves, Part Number H-2715, for the full hydraulic master cylinder had been manufactured. If so does anyone know where they are available from?
If they are not available, I can get some made, but need the original (not worn) inside diameter before going ahead.
Regards to all,
Mike Allfrey.

I got mine from JCCNZ, JCS may be able to supply and may use them in the reconditioned units they offer.

Re: Girling Part Number H-2715 Sleeve
Hi Folks,
I have at last resolved my master cylinder concerns. I now have a genuine Javelin/Jupiter unit and the new plunger support sleeve from NZ is a good fit. The master cylinder that was in E0 SA 42R, fitted the Good Lord only knows when, was not a genuine unit - externally the same, but internal dimensions are different, one by 0.083-in. which is well beyond manufacturing tolerances. I am now wondering what vehicle the master cylinder came from. Thirty years ago, I fitted a new Javelin plunger and seal kit. There have been several seal kits fitted reasonably regularly, as have been the brake hoses.
Now I understand why my Jupiter had significantly longer brake pedal travel than that in my Javelin before any thing started to happen. In addition, bleeding the brakes was sometimes a bit difficult. Some of that aspect can be put down to wear at the inner diameter of the plunger support sleeve, I have three used sleeves here with 0.007, 0.008 and 0.010-in. of wear - probably too much for the recuperating seal to cope with.
Will advise how it works out. Meanwhile my Technical Notes on the master cylinder overhaul will be released soon.
