Reversing camera

Post by bobharvey »

If anyone is finding their rear view impaired by age-related neck stiffness, this cordless solar powered reversing camera is a fairly simple mod.

I've just fitted it to my 1949 Plymouth, which has a similar beetle-backed rear, and the biggest problem was sorting a 12v power supply, the car being 6v. In the Javelin one can just plug it into the fag lighter socket. i dont really want the unit on display all the time on it's sticky-based stalk, so I'm temporarily keeping it in the glovebox with the 12v power supply.

It doesnt do the clever bending of the projected lines with steering, but it reduces the chance of denting your pride and joy or wreaking havoc with a sturdy rear bumper. If it works as well as it seems to I think I'll add one to the Javelin too, when I get it on the road.
