Castrol XL30

Post by Keith Clements »

I ordered this oil at midday and it arrived within 23 hrs. The proper stuff for a Jav or Jup I think. https://www.classicoils.co.uk/xl30
Seems to be £10 a gallon cheaper than elsewhere.

I think the only reason jowett did not specify multigrade was because it was not invented at the time. A classic mulitgrade (classic to get the correct additive package) will provide better protection on starting because the oil will circulate around the engine faster and better load protection at temperature because the oil contains viscosity modifiers which means the oil is not as thin as a 30 grade at the same temperature. A bonus to this is that it will not leak out quite so much under pressure.
