Javelin in Tasmania

Post by PJGD »

There is a new book out that covers the sporting events at the Penguin Hill Climb in northwest Tasmania by author Stephen Mott.
One of the photos [the only one I have seen] is from August 1958 and is of the assembly area with an interesting collection of cars, both competitors and supporting. On of the cars there is a smart-looking Javelin with shiny wheels/hubcaps; probably a 1951 car perhaps:

Hey Philip,

Well spotted! That could be one of the Javelins owned by Rex Maddock of Hobart.

Trust you are all keeping well,

Mike A.
