Last Friday, I attended a general meeting of the Rover Car Club of Australia, the second since the COVID-19 pandemic lock-downs here in Victoria. Before the meeting commenced, a group of us older ones reflected on how many of our friends in the various car clubs were no longer with us. Notably, in this instance, being that the Jowett Car Club of Australia's founder, John Coffey, and the RCCA's founder, George Gosbell, no longer being with us. We discovered that both of these enthusiasts were very similar in their attitudes to the two marques.
The average age in our little group was 79 years old! With me being right in the middle. In addition, two of us were involved with 1950 cars, my Jupiter and another member's Rover P3, a very nice example.
We may be older, but we still maintain the interest in the motor cars we love. I wish now that I had not sold my Rover P6B 3500!
