32/33 sunroof lock
Would anyone have any details of what the sun roof lock looks like and how it works. Mine is missing altogether and although you can buy a Pytchley lock brand new, I doubt it will work on the Jowett roof! By the 34 model year, there was a central handle and mechanism to lock the roof in position.

Ken - I think Tony Fern is your man for this subject - I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that he has answered on this question previously on here along with some sketches

Re: 32/33 sunroof lock
Thanks for the link Keith, unfortunately this is for the 34 mechanism. It became very 'high tech' by then! Mine has a simple recess in the middle of the bar to place your fingers in to open and shut. It does that fine but I have no means by which to clamp/lock the sliding section in place. I believe there should be a knurled knob over the driver's side which clamps down on the runner.

Hi Ken.
P. Rodgers and M. Kavanagh have 1932 models. Perhaps they can advise. There will be others, but we don't yet have an up to date vehicle register.
There's also a photo of a supposedly 1931 'Kingfisher' on page 15 of the January 2021 Jowetteer, although the roof seems to be non-sliding.
I might be wrong, but I always thought the 'Kingfisher' was from 1932 along with Simba. Wren, Ivanhoe, and Blackbird.
Mention it to Hon. Ed. for a 'wanted advert, in the mag. Regards,
Tony.

Thanks for that, Tony, I will try an advert. True, they dropped the Kingfisher in the 33 brochure, however, in true Jowett fashion they must have still been available probably at a reduced price, as mine is exactly 1932 spec re the colour scheme with fawn mocquette and 6 volt electrics.
