That spray hole is very important and I went many many years without checking it. Almost instant wear on the gears if it is blocked; usually with gasket goo. Also make sure the very thin (.3mm) gasket in the oil pump is fitted and not leaking. Air can enter the pump and give you great oil pressure but full of air. Instant bearing failure.

Re: Distributor drive dacklash
You have three ways to attach pictures . Either with the drag and drop method (or copy/ paste) onto the posting box, or the attachment tab and add file method (where you can do multiple files).
Nigel, you have got me worried because this week the forum was updated, so some things MAY have changed. Please let me know if they have.
By the look of the post which failed you used the image BBCODE method and screwed up the tags
In this third method you are pointing to an image which is somewhere else, perhaps in another post in JT or an external resource.

Image upload.
It usually is not necessary to have an image larger than 1 MB for posting here. JowettTalk resizes any images with a dimension greater than 1024 pixels on either axis. This gives a crisp image and unless you are used to a high quality 4K screen you are unlikely to notice the difference as the image usually does not fill the screen. Images are downsized after upload . You can see this in the attachment panel.
Here you see the same file having just been uploaded and then, below that, after it has either been placed in line or the post is saved. JowettTalk resized the image automatically when it was submitted.
The recent upgrade has changed the way attachments are handled. They are grouped by type and have different limits. I have set different limits for documents, such as pdf, videos such as mp4, and images, such as jpg or png.
Images over 12MB are not accepted as it would put a load on the network and server. You will get a message "File to large"- if larger. A 12MB image may take a long time to upload if using a slow network and JowettTalk might timeout.
Although not necessary, please use your Photo editor to crop and resize the image to show exactly what you want...no more , no less. Even the best photographers do this! This helps emphasise the point you were trying to make. People in 20 years time will value the time you took sharing your experience. If you think a high quality image is really necessary then please contact the webmaster who can attach it to your post.
If your phone is saving images larger than 12Mb I would suggest you change the way it does it. Only a professional photographer printing to an A3 canvas needs images in such detail. You will quickly fill up your device keeping them that size! If the limit is a problem for you please contact the webmaster.
There is also some residual knowledge around which is wrong. You are limited to 12 images or attachment per post. Of course you can simply add more images with another post but please carefully select the images to illustrate your topic and do not fill up the forum. Use your JowettTalk personal album if you want to record a history in more detail.
Thumbnails are created for images greater than 12000 Bytes which when clicked will allow you to see the full image (or the resized one).
The upload file limit set to 40MB and limits the size of videos and documents. Curators can upload important large images such as technical drawings, but ordinary users are limited by the dimension check on images. You will get a message "File to large"- if larger.
Documents can go up to 40MB . I now put documents through the Acrobat optimizing action to reduce their size (generally without reducing quality). This also adds a watermark and numbers pages.
Nigel,
Can you try copy and pasting the reduced size pictures rather than the large ones, please. I can always delete the post with them in. This would just check that it was the image size not the process that failed. Then try uploading the large images again.
