Jowett order of cylinders.

Post by Barry20383 »

At the moment am overhauling the ignition system on my Javelin. Fitted new coil plug leads and plug caps.
I was checking the firing order which is in the service manual but could not find which is which cylinder.
Its normally easy on a straight engine but not on the flat four.

There should be a brass plate on the bulk head.
No1 is at front on right if looking at engine.
No4 is at the back on the left.

Have found the plate thanks. I also noticed that the crank pulley has grooves on the inside and outside of the belt groove and 4 dots on the timing chain cover i assume these are the timing marks. Are these from the factory or been added later. Thanks.
