In responding to a request for a brake pedal, I dug around in my loft and turned up two orphans that have been laying about for decades. They have the casting number 54068. This number is not in my May 1952 Spares book, but 54067 is listed as Javelin. The Jupiter appendix shows LHD 53541 and RHD 53391. At first I thought 54068 might be LHD Javelin, but checking my LHD Javelin it has 54077, once again not in the Spares book. All five Jupiters in my shop, both RHD and LHD, have the 54068 pedal.
It appears the chap doing the numbering never talked to the man handling the casting. Or, did some apprentice spend all day bending 54068 pedals one way for the 53391 box and the other way for the 53541 box? Or whatever way just to clear the bulkhead?
I haven't checked clutch pedal numbers yet. Too afraid of what I'll find.

Re: Jupiter brake pedal arm casting
Well, I stand by my statement, the numbering guy never looked at the numbers on the casting. Find a Jupiter pedal with those numbers! Jupiters 58, 62, 140, 266 and 758 pretty much cover the production run. Now, how many angels can dance on a pinhead?

Clutch pedal that was on the shaft with a LHD Jupiter 54068 brake pedal is 50549, one past the Javelin 507 Clutch Pedal –RHD 50458
Not in my book and shows as Jupiter LHD 532 52295 and 53631 in the linked Spares book. As if life isn't confusing enough on its own.

Re: Jupiter brake pedal arm casting
How different are Javelin & Jupiter pedals? My LHD chassis has all it's pedals, however my RHD chassis had the pedals removed with a gas torch, then thrown away. Can Javelin ones be modified to fit?
Good memories of Bradfords.

I don't have any spare Javelin pedals to compare. Also never thought I would spend hours on theses things!
