This is a really long shot but you can but try. I have a Javelin engine number GM17 which I understand was rebuilt by George Mitchell to have separate thrust bearings. I last had the engine apart in the early 80s and among all my bills can find no reference to new thrusts which must mean I thought them OK and re-used them. Now, they are at their limit. I'd like to replace them but does anyone know where they originate? There are no makings at all.

Re: Thrust Bearings
Nick,
I have a set of GLACIER thrust washers for the Javelin engine. Part No W2050 +0.005" 0.092" thick proof that thrust washers for the Javelin were manufactured at some time. Might be worth checking with classic car engine suppliers to see if there is any new old stock still available.
I have read some where, I think in the Aussie Javelin Magazine, Ford Consul thrust washers (and washers from another manufacturer) are used for the Aussie thrust washer modification.
Viewed a Javelin/Ferguson development engine. Identification stamp HFX1 which has been machined with a 0.062" recess to take thrust washers. The main bearing casting size is the same as the Javelin, recess outside diameter 3". One half machined for the standard industry location tab. Don't know if the final design of the Ferguson crankshaft was the same as the Javelin. The Ferguson crank was assembled into a tunnel in a one piece crankcase, crank diameters could be a lot different.
Hope this is of some help.
Cheers John.
