Wanted - Inlet manifold for 2cyl jowett

Post by Iain Jubb »

Hi, we have a Jowett engined Bristol, believed to be the 3rd oldest in existance. The manifold has seen better days and we are after a replacement.
The manifold on it has just 2 studs per flange. We have a excellent condition manifold with 4 holes per flange to either sell, swap etc.

Anyone?

Thanks
Iain

Where has it "seen better days"
Around the base area? and the where the carb mounts?
these areas are easly built up with some handy with a Al mig welder, and a bit of grinding and filing
Even a 4 bolt is a rare unit these days..well is in NZ.

Welcome to the club website!

More information is needed before help / advice can be offered: -

Does the carburettor mount horizontally or vertically? Is the manifold a reasonable straightforward 'arch' shape or has it got 'doglegs' in each branch?

I know NOTHING about Bristol tractors, but you are in the right place for people who DO!

Good luck! What state is the rest of it in? Any pictures?
The devil is in the detail!
